Our Favorite Designs of 2018

--

Wow, can you believe this year has almost come to an end? In 2018, we were tasked with various fun, and sometimes challenging, design projects to tackle! We took each one head on and really knocked them out of the park. Check out a couple of our favorite design projects from 2018.

Pensacola Humane Society

Fur Ball RSVP Cards + Envelopes

A local nonprofit approached the IdeaCrew to create a fun RSVP for their upcoming event — The First Annual Fur Ball, an elegant black tie gala featuring live entertainment, a silent auction, a Puppy Parade, cocktails and dinner — to further their goal of Saving Lives 4 Paws at a Time. After drawing up a few logo concepts for the event, the client chose their favorite one and we created the bone pattern to match the clean and simple lines of the logo’s font.

ADX Communications

Talk Radio Logo

A local radio station was looking for a fresh take on their current logo, and we were stoked to put the Ideawörks spin on this dated logo. After brainstorming with the client and drafting various concepts, we finally decided on one. The team chose to go with a minimal icon that combined a radio microphone and a speech bubble, paired with a bold font, which resulted in a more in-your-face look!

Susan Campbell Jewelry

Pearl Round Table Event

These watercolor pearls were created with a Wacom tablet in Photoshop for a local high-end jewelry shop’s event. The client wanted a fun invitation to send out and after playing with a couple other concepts that just didn’t seem to capture the feel of the event, we landed on a watercolor style. She was very pleased with how the invite turned out and plans on getting prints of the watercolor pearls to hang up in her store!

Downtown Improvement Board

101 Things to do Downtown Header

This year we were tasked to create a brochure for locals and visitors alike to see what’s going on in downtown Pensacola. For this project, we got to combine illustration and hand-lettering for this brochure’s graphic! While this project is still in the works, we had a blast creating the header.

Downtown Improvement Board

International PARK(ing) Day Event

International PARK(ing) Day was one for the books! Using hand-lettering and illustration, this project was one of our favorites! Downtown Pensacola hosted a PARK(ing) Day event, where local businesses turned parking spaces into public places! We created a header for this event that was used on the downtown Pensacola website and social media sites, plus was used in a print ad in the Downtown Crowd.

Ideawörks Internal Fun

Internal Illustrations

Sometimes random conversations and jokes come up around the office. In our designer’s limited free time, she sketched out a few office insiders. The one on the left is of our Client Relations Manager, Freddie. Freddie loves a good Chicago dog, and even has it as a tattoo. The one on the right is of our Digital Engagement Manager, Charleigh, in a DeLorean. Charleigh got a new computer and kept referring to her old laptop as her “way back machine” so, a DeLorean was only fitting.

Stay tuned for more fun Ideawörks illustrations in the future.

ACC Business Cards

Our client was in need of new business cards… but first, we had to clean up their logo a bit. After cleaning up the logo a bit, we created these business cards. We went with a sleek matte black design with a large gloss icon off to the side, while sticking with their black and red brand colors.

Montessori School of Pensacola

Back to School Nights Flyer

One of our clients needed a flyer to inform parents of an event happening at their school, so we gave them a couple options to choose from. We came up with multiple concepts for this flyer — an outer space version and one that included a safer design. We were more drawn to the outer space concept, so we just had to share!
